Truth: Christian 1st. American 2nd.

The Bible and my acceptance of Jesus Christ as my Savior and prayer saved my life. Jesus Christ not only saved my soul, but saved me from a cold hard selfish heart while I visit this place known as Earth.

Sicko and Food Inc. and Inside Job are three documentaries that helped shape my view about my country. I hear repeatedly, mostly from older folks, folks of my parents' generation, that God has removed His hand of protection from the United States. Their reasons are usually political in nature and yet they continue to participate in a corrupt political system that worships mammon and power and dishonesty... a system that scoffs and mocks God.

I hear, "Too many takers and not enough doers" or "Greed has ruined this country" or versions thereof.

The Bible says we have to chose between two masters; God or mammon. That scripture has been a mantra for months. God or mammon. God or mammon.  God says we will serve one or the other. God says we cannot serve both.

The problem with this country is mammon now reigns supreme. If Jesus can fit into an agenda based on selfish ambition, great.  Fine.  Hip hip hooray.  If not, mankind's Savior get stuffed, and possibly sealed, into a box that is opened only in case of an emergency.

$2.2 billion was spent on two guys running for 2012 POTUS.  $2.2 billion.

2008...   $1.6 billion
2004... $717 million
2000... $343 million
1996... $192 million
1992... $240 million
1988... $210 million
1984... $103 million
1980...   $92 million

The health care community now worships mammon. When care is denied because of the inability to pay, God's love is not involved. When insurance companies deny payment based on monetary impact to the company, God's love is not involved. When health care professionals receive kickback and bribes to prescribe specific medication or provide referrals to select specialists, God's love is not involved.

The same has occurred with the agriculture industry. It is now profit driven from Monsanto's patent on life to the manner beef is raised to the subsidies given to corn crops that allow farmers to sell corn below the cost of production to the industry fighting accurate labeling of what they sell.

God or mammon... God or mammon... God or mammon.  What does God want me to do about this? I don't know. I know He does not want me to stand by and do nothing.
