Feeding Sheep 2

Tonight, my son, who is in the sixth grade, explained a pastor confessed smoking marijuana while he was in the fifth grade. I get why someone wants to highlight the good things God has done in their life... how far they have come under God's guidance. I get it.

I have stated previously, I strongly disagree with the forum and audience, not the message. Why not say something like "I did some pretty bad stuff around your age. I am lucky God pulled me out of that mess."

Why not proceed to explain what God is doing for you now as a parent, as a spouse, as an employee, a business owner, or a coach? Speak to how you are attempting to serve your family, to serve God, to honor Jesus by becoming the person others need you to be.

When I hear adult confessions labeled as testimony in the company of 11-13 year old students... I think this must be what man's wisdom looks like? God has impressed upon me those testimonies are targeted to the wrong audience.

My 2.4949 cents today.

Have a good and godly day.
